So, what jobs will artificial intelligence create (or has it already created)?
Now, the AI boom is here and everyone’s worst fears are slowly but surely getting confirmed: People are losing jobs at a maddening rate to AI..
Ask Freelancers, particularly copywriters (translators, transcribers, voice-over artists too) and you will hear horrendous stories of previously busy freelance writers suddenly finding themselves out of work.
Similarly, entry-level coders are finding it harder to get meaningful work.
Not to forget that the tech industry has recorded massive layoffs since November 2022, when ChatGPT landed on the scene.
This naturally leads to the question of AI resilient jobs.
In other words, which jobs are AI safe? Or where can you turn to (what new skills should you learn) if your job is one of those that AI is threatening to take over (or already took over)?
Well, we looked around and did a bit of research and compiled a list of Jobs AI will create (solid AI proof jobs), especially for those who have been in freelancing (writers, developers, transcribers, and the like)
What jobs will artificial intelligence create?
The good news is that AI has already created these AI job titles and if you go to popular freelancing platforms such as Upwork, you’ll keep seeing quite a number of gigs looking for people skilled in them.
That can only be awesome. It means you don’t have to spend your days mourning anymore.
All you need to do is dust yourself up, find a way of learning the required skills, and start hunting again!
In fact, some of the new AI driven jobs are paying much better, which makes sense considering that not many people are skilled in them.
Here are the new AI jobs in demand, from what we have seen when checking across the web:
AI ChatBot developer
Companies are replacing customer service agents with AI ChatBots and this could be a good place to start, if you lost your job.
The best part? You don’t even need to have deep coding skills.
Why so? Because you can just use AI to do the needed code (ask ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude to help you do that and you will be fine).
I went to UpWork and saw some interesting AI ChatBot programmer roles so yes, there is huge demand.
I also observed that typically, there are very few proposals for these openings.
So it’s now on you to get the skills and dive back into the job market.

Prompt Engineer (author)
Also among jobs that will survive AI (or to put it better emerged from AI and will continue being so much in demand for the foreseeable future) is AI prompt engineer.
Imagine this: While there are hundreds of great AI tools to do basically anything (from creating art, and music, to writing code), many of us still cannot get the prompts right.
And we all know that the difference between amazing AI creations and horrible ones is how good the prompts are.
Which means the market for expert AI prompt engineers is going to continue surging.
Did I tell you that companies and brands are willing to pay top buck for expert AI prompt authors?
Again I checked at Upwork and the signs are very good, if you can hone your AI prompting skills in popular AI tools like Midjourney.
You can even start by learning prompting on YouTube.
Or maybe pay for an AI prompting course at Udemy.
AI Automaton Specialists
Yet another interesting AI powered role that won’t be going away anytime soon is that of AI automation.
You see, there is some kind of an AI arms race at the moment with companies rushing to beat their competition in integrating AI systems into their operations.
So anybody who can help these companies automate everything (I already told you about AI chatbots) is unlikely to go hungry, at least for the foreseeable future.
Now, Proficiency in Python seems to be the most asked for skill here so get a way of mastering it and of course, learn how to deploy AI automation systems such as Zapier.
Trust me: You will soon be smiling all the way to the bank.
AI Trainers
LLMs are still being trained (obviously with data) across the planet so if you can train LLM models, then this could be a good opportunity to make some money.
Remember all those state-of-the-art AI models out there have to undergo serious training (be humans like you) before they can reach reasonable performance levels.
So, why not consider jumping into AI models training?
Okay, I know it doesn’t pay as well as some of the AI proof jobs in this list but fellas making a living out of it and it’s not really difficult to ace.
Check out Upwork or advertise your LLM training Gig on Fiverr for a start.

AI Auditor
If this is new to you, just know that an AI Auditor mainly evaluates AI systems to make sure they comply with legal (relevant regulations), ethical, as well as safety standards.
And it is one of the new positions to emerge as organizations increasingly introduce AI tech into their operations.
They hire you to help audit AI technologies to mitigate any risks that may arise because of their usage.
To get hired here, first, you need above-average analytical Skills.
Besides, you need to be good with essential machine learning algorithms, programming languages such as Python or R and have the basics of natural language processing(NLP).
Just to be clear, NLP is a branch of AI that principally focuses on the interactions between computers and men through natural language.
Regarding its prospects, I believe it might be another role with huge demand for many years to come.
AI Ethics Specialists
AI ethics talent ensure ethical standards are always upheld now that the landscape of Artificial Intelligence regulations is seemingly constantly evolving.
In short, it’s all about ensuring ethical use of AI across organizations.
So, what qualifications do you need for this role?
Well, first is a degree in areas such as philosophy, computer science, ethics, or social sciences.
In addition, I have seen most positions needing courses such as responsible AI, ethics of technology, and the like.
Taking a Certified AI Ethicist(CAIE)course could come in handy too.
AI-Human Interaction Designers
AI-Human Interaction Designers work on creating seamless/effective interactions between us, humans and myriad AI systems.
And it is yet another role that helps to ensure that AI technologies are not only user-friendly, but also aligned maximally with users’ needs (fully functional).
Here you again must have a solid understanding of leading AI and ML(machine learning) algorithms, basic UX design principles, not to forget principles of user-centered design.
I should say that understanding ML frameworks (majorly TensorFlow and PyTorch) will stand you in good stead.
To go with that, make sure you know your around software like Adobe XD, Figma, Sketch for designing interfaces.
This can be an easy one if you have been into product design or primarily UX design.
AI, Machine Learning and Software Development Specialists (AI Dev)
This is the route I recommend you go if you have a lot of experience in conventional coding.
Reason?
There might never be a time when the demand for AI App Development expertise will beat the current spike!
I have repeatedly mentioned Python so I won’t repeat about its absolute importance for AI developers.
Just know that hiring managers typically ask for a good AI development portfolio so work on one- even if it means doing it for free.
That’s because one good project may see you land countless Gigs when it comes to AI Development jobs.
What jobs will artificial intelligence create?
Here now are other AI job roles that I find more promising (at the moment and moving forward):
AI-Assisted Healthcare Technicians
If you are in the medical field, you may want to see if becoming an AI-Assisted Healthcare Technician could interest you.
You see, AI healthcare tech leverages AI technologies to make healthcare delivery, including patient monitoring, diagnostics, and administrative tasks more efficient.
Obviously, AI tools have become a major component in medicare, because they boost efficiency in a big way!
Note that a degree in healthcare/medical technology, bio-medical engineering, or such fields is often required.
You can always do additional certifications in A.I. or data analysis to enhance your job prospects.

Autonomous Vehicle Technicians
Autonomous Vehicle Technicians are probably the future of self-driving vehicles.
Why?
Because these cars will stop if nobody is there to do their maintenance and repair regularly.
So if your passion is auto (and you already have a qualification in automotive technology), go ahead and delve deeper into techs like Advanced Driver Assistance Systems(ADAS) alongside programming languages (Hello Python!).
These could be your ticket to a lucrative AI proof career in autonomous vehicles operations, maintenance and repair.
AI Legal Specialists
Are you a law guy?
If yes, plan on shifting to AI Legal Specialty- here you will be helping legal firms and professionals adopt AI technologies- Law is one of the areas where AI is expected to have an enormous impact!
To get ahead, learn AI technologies focusing on law including legal-related machine learning concepts.
AI Anti-exploitability Experts
This is perhaps one of the most underrated AI related new profession.
Did you know that it’s very likely that Cybercrime as we know it will change, thanks to ai to something substantially different?
That is Anti-exploitability Experts come in.
Your work here is to protect AI systems from all forms of exploitation/attacks.
Can you imagine the demand?
It could simply be crazy!
That is because there is no shortage of malicious actors targeting final AI users.
I recommend this path if you have a degree in cybersecurity, computer science, or IT.
Do I really need to add that you must be amazing at programming languages (Python, C++), ML(machine learning) concepts, and diverse cybersecurity principles?
AI technician jobs / Robotics Technicians
As the AI revolution continues to gather pace, talent will be needed to provide top-notch repair as well as maintenance services for AI humanoids and autonomous robots.
Needless to say, these will become more common in our homes and businesses as days go by so skilled Robotics Technicians(AI technicians) will be more in demand.
Well, to be hired, learn a combination of artificial intelligence, data science, machine learning, and programming and also look for experience.
I should add that A bachelor’s degree either in Computer Science or Engineering (Information Technology too) could give you an added advantage.
AI research engineer jobs
Also increasingly trending is AI research job (or simply AI engineers).
You need to be knowledgeable in AI, ML deep learning, and even natural language processing.
Python, along with competence with AI frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch could also make a massive difference.
AI strategy jobs
AI strategists is also one of the AI safety jobs you could turn to.
Now, this is more of an expert role and it’s probably best suited for those already experienced in designing and launching AI products.
Indeed, as with other AI leadership jobs, the key here is unrivalled business Acumen and vast technical knowledge in AI technologies
How many jobs will artificial intelligence create?
Nobody knows. But the undeniable truth is that AI will create a significant number of new jobs even as it makes a whole lot more jobs redundant.
Question is: Are you ready to upskill to remain relevant or will you watch as AI takes over your job?
Your choice!
PS: If you don’t like any of the above, keep in mind that trades that have been unchanged since industrial revolution are a safe bet largely (Think Plumbers, builders, welders, electricians, painters and their ilk). With these, you won’t worry about what jobs will artificial intelligence create? You’ll be fine!
