If you are looking for a good AI for customer care tool (specifically to handle phone calls, for example, for a restaurant business), I recommend the following tools:
AI for Customer Care (Restaurant Phone Answering) – Tools we recommend here at aiknowzone.com
Vapi AI
Retell AI
Any of these two tools can work good- provided you give the tool a good prompt.
Of course, a good prompt means you describe what you want the AI to do.
Still on Vapi AI, another thing I recommend is instead of struggling to come up with a super detailed prompt, it is better to use a GPT for Vapi Prompt Generator (it really makes your project easier- because you want to build a virtual receptionist who handles enquiries excellently)
Just to be clear, what you to do is:
Feed it the ideal conversation, tone you prefer, and all the important restaurant details….
Once you do that, it will generate a more in-depth and accurate starting/beginner prompt for you- to feed into Vapi AI.
Now, for voice, I recommend you try Eleven Labs (ElevenLabs remains the voice generator to beat) or PlayHT, if for some reason you are unable to use Eleven Labs.
Be sure to select model 4o (GPT-4o or upwards- newer models keep coming out)
And you also have to keep resting and refining until you get an AI voice agent for your restaurant (or your client running a restaurant) that won’t mess up customer service.
Next, you jump into the automation phase- and here I have to admit that getting automation right is not the easiest thing to do in the World..
The good news is that you will eventually get it right with time (it takes time for the whole thing to run smoothly).
The tool I suggest for automation? Make.com (it was Integromat in the past)
For Vapi AI, the main issue is the cost per call…costs can really pile up if you are running a busy restaurant.
I am still experimenting with Retell AI (again with Make.com) so I will be back to update this article once I’m done..
But there is another idea I want to share with you before I go particularly if you’re a developer looking for a way of making quick cash from developing AI customer care agents for restaurants..
Listen here:
Instead of doing everything by yourself, why not search for a Vendor selling a White Label Version of GoHighLevel and work with restaurants?
You see, I have come across some out there- for taking orders, making reservations, coordinating events and even catering!
And they also integrates with active menus (think of privatized Door Dash & Uber Eats) meaning even the AI app can help the client self-deliver (if the restaurant has employees) or use Door Dash/UberEatsAPI to initialize delivery (at ½ the normal service fee on these applications)..
If you ask me, this arrangement could be a total game changer for you (or the facility that you’re developing for, especially those with no good customer care).
Anyway, it’s just a wild thought that’s pretty much worthy brainstorming about..
PS: Another tool you can explore if you are working on a voice agent (receptionist) to book appointments and such tasks is Bland AI (I have heard that it’s another potentially great AI for Customer Care tool (very realistic conversational AI if done properly).
